What size kilt should I order/how do I know what size I am?
First off: DON'T ORDER YOUR PANTS/JEAN SIZE!!! Now that I have your attention, this is such an important question/part of the process that we have an entire page devoted to answering it. Click here for all you need to know!
Oops, I didn't see that and ordered by my jean size. My kilt doesn't fit. Now what?
We will be happy to exchange your kilt. Figure out what size you do need by clicking here, and then do one of two things:
a) Contact us for an Exchange Authorization Number, mail us back the kilt with a note stating which size you are exchanging for, and we will ship out the replacement size as soon as we can (usually within a day or two).
b) If you're in a hurry and need the replacement size ASAP, you can purchase a second kilt here on the website and include a note requesting a Exchange Authorization Number, and once we receive your original back we will credit your card.

How long will it take to receive my order?
We do our best to keep a full stock, so odds are your kilt will be on hand and ready to ship within 1-4 business days. If your kilt or other item is not in stock, we will let you know ASAP and provide an estimated delivery date. You can decide then to wait or cancel your order.
Unlike other kilt companies, we DO NOT CHARGE YOUR CARD UNTIL WE ARE READY TO SHIP. We've heard too many people complain that other sellers have taken their money upfront yet not shipped a kilt for months or longer, or even never in a few sad cases...We don't operate like that. If it will take us longer than 7 days* to ship your order for any reason, we will contact you to let you know. It's that simple.

I need a waist size that you do not currently stock. Can you special order it for me?
In most cases, absolutely! Special orders can take anywhere from 4-16 weeks. Usually closer to 4-6, but we can give a better estimate when you consult us to place your order. Just let us know what you need, and we will go over everything with you.
I'm a pretty big guy. Are your sporran chains going to fit me?
Our chains are extra long, and will easily fit up to 52" waists. If you are over 52" at the waist, we can include some additional chain at no extra cost~just let us know when you place your order. Our sporran chains are easy to adjust for length.
Our pipe band (or other group) needs to place a large group order~can you give us a group discount and/or put together a special package with the items we need?
Of course! We specialize in group orders and can offer significant discounts off our normal prices! Whether you need to order just kilts, or are looking at creating a custom package including items such as belts/buckles, sgian dubh's, and so on, contact us and we will give you deep discounts and personalized service!
Do you ship to Canada? What about other countries?
We are happy to accept orders from our international customers via PayPal. Please select the PayPal option when you check out.
You had an item at the Highland Games that I don't see on your website. How do I order it?
E-mail us at Sales@HighlandKilt.com with a description of the item (and where you saw us if possible) and we will happily let you know if that product is still available.
How do I exchange or return an item?
We'll pretty much exchange anything for another size, color, etc. We just ask that you contact us for an Exchange Authorization Number and ship the item(s) back to us within 7 days. We'll get your replacement out to you as soon as we receive your return.
If an exchange won't do, we will refund your order so long as you contact us for a Return Authorization Number and return the item in its original, unworn/unused condition within 7 days.
In the rare case a product defect comes to light after the 7 days but in less than 60 days, we will, at our discretion, offer an EXCHANGE only for an identical product (or, if an identical product is not available, a mutually acceptable substitute or store credit). Product defect does not mean "I slid down the hill in my kilt and ripped a hole in it", it's more like "my kilt strap broke for no reason" (not that that's happened to one of our kilts yet, but you never know)!
Reasons we are likely to deny your exchange or refund:
1) You wadded your muddy kilt up into a ball and left it in your trunk for 2 months, and now it 'smells funny'.
2) You ordered and wore the kilt for a wedding, and now you 'really don't need a kilt', so want a full refund.
3) You wore your kilt all of last year, but now that you've lost/gained 50 lbs it doesn't fit, so you want to exchange it.
4) You want us to send you a new item before you will send the item you are returning back.
Mini-rant: We've had one customer who got quite angry when we wouldn't ship him a new product before he returned the original product. Look, would you walk into your local Whatever-Mart and say "I want to exchange a pair blue jeans I bought here for black jeans. No, I didn't bring them with me...why can't I just leave with the black jeans and bring the blue jeans back later?"
And then when you don't get your way, would you scream at the teller, threaten to tell all your friends never to shop there, etc?
No?
I wouldn't either. I'm pretty sure the universal retail policy is return comes before exchange, not the other way around. And so it's our policy, too. Thanks for understanding.

--Those are all true stories, by the way. Ok, maybe I made up #5. I think in general our policies are pretty darn reasonable. If in doubt let us know what's going on and we'll work with you on a resolution.
